《世界农场动物福利行业基准》(BBFAW---Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare)由世界农场动物福利协会(Compassion in World Farming)和世界动物保护协会(World Animal Protection)发起,是食品公司中农场动物福利管理、政策承诺和绩效披露的全球领先指标。

Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare

The Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare (BBFAW) is the leading global measure of farm animal welfare management, policy commitment, performance, and disclosure in food companies. Since its inception in 2012, it has enabled investors, companies, NGOs and other stakeholders to understand corporate practice and performance on farm animal welfare, and it has driven – directly and through the efforts of others – improvements in the welfare of animals reared for food.

Based on the publicly available animal welfare information disclosed by the company, the annual Benchmark assesses how 150 global food companies manage farm animal welfare in their operations and supply chains.  It allows investors to compare companies, to identify leaders and laggards and those making significant improvements, and to assess wider trends in farm animal welfare across the global food industry.

BBFAW maintains the Global Investor Statement on Farm Animal Welfare and convenes the Global Investor Collaboration on Farm Animal Welfare, a collaborative engagement between major institutional investors and food companies on the issue of farm animal welfare. In addition, BBFAW manages extensive engagement programs with investors and provides practical guidance and tools for companies and for investors on key animal welfare issues.

As of July 2020, 33 investors, representing £2.1 trillion in assets under management, have signed the Statement. All signatories identify farm animal welfare as material to long-term investment value in the food sector and commit to taking account of farm animal welfare in their analysis of and engagement with food companies.

A total of 11 Chinese companies were benchmarked in the 2020 BBFAW Report (appearing in Tiers 4 and 6).
